Duofu Mama · AI-Powered Support for
Single (Vulnerable/Fragile) Mothers

Project Introduction

1.   Project Overview

Project Name:   Duofu Mama · AI-Powered Support for Single (Vulnerable/Fragile) Mothers

Implementation Period:   2026 – 2028   (Three-Phase Progressive Model)

Service Area:   Five prefectures of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region (Yinchuan, Shizuishan, Wuzhong, Zhongwei, Guyuan)

Target Beneficiaries:   1,000 mothers in difficult circumstances — widowed, divorced, or de facto single parents (whose spouses are imprisoned, severely disabled, critically ill, or missing) — raising minor children

Partners:   Ningxia Charity Federation · Civil Affairs / Women's Federation · Tertiary-Level Hospitals · Jiusan Society · Ningxia Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau · Local Universities · Leading AI Enterprises

Fundraising Partner:   Ningxia Charity Federation

Total Budget:   CNY 3,370,000 (Three Million Three Hundred and Seventy Thousand Yuan)

2.   Project Positioning

Grounded in human companionship and centered on the universal accessibility of public AI tools, this project builds a four-dimensional framework: AI Literacy & Awareness → AI-Assisted Relationship Repair → AI-Enabled Income Generation → AI-Powered Resource Linkage. It establishes a local mutual-aid network to guide beneficiaries along a sustainable path from being helped → helping oneself → helping others.

3.   Project Goals

◆   Self-Reliance

Confirm each mother's existing capabilities; equip 90% of participants with practical AI tools (free, publicly available) so they have autonomous, 24/7 self-support.

◆   Mutual-Aid Network

Build a stable, community-based mutual-aid network; cultivate 50 Mama Mentors who enable the network to operate independently.

◆   Income Enhancement

Provide diversified income channels; support mothers in achieving stable earnings and improved household quality of life — with 50 participants earning an additional CNY 1,000–2,000 per month through AI-enabled home-based employment.

◆   Replicable Model

Produce a scalable, transferable 'Companionship + AI Assistance' social-service model for wider adoption.

4.   Implementation Pathway

One Foundation · Four Service Pillars · One Transformation Pathway

4.1   Foundation: Human Companionship

Dedicated case workers and local companions conduct home visits, active listening, crisis response, and strengths discovery to build deep trust. The approach respects each mother's autonomy — companions support without substituting or overstepping boundaries.

4.2   Four Service Pillars

Pillar 1 · AI Skill Building

Curated free voice-based AI tools are introduced through the 'Three-Session Companionship Method', teaching voice Q&A, daily recording, and emotional expression — addressing daily information access, emotional regulation, and administrative task challenges.

Pillar 2 · Wellness Care — 'Kindness Kit'

Home visits, donated care packages (Kindness Kits), peer mutual support, professional counseling referrals, and hospital-partnered quarterly health screenings safeguard physical and mental well-being as well as parent–child relationships.

Pillar 3 · Diversified Income Support

Tiered empowerment pathways: literate mothers pursue AI-assisted remote work (data annotation, copywriting, etc.); mothers with limited literacy access proximity-based income opportunities (domestic services, animal husbandry, handicrafts).

Pillar 4 · Resource Linkage

Collaboration with Civil Affairs, Women's Federation, Agriculture Bureau and others — leveraging AI tools to deliver plain-language guidance on policies, agri-tech, healthcare consultation, and educational support, lowering barriers to seeking help.

4.3   Transformation Pathway: Mama Mutual-Aid Circles

Community-level mutual-aid groups are formed; Mama Mentors (experienced beneficiaries) guide new participants through peer support, shared learning, and AI co-teaching — enabling indigenous capacity to sustain long-term mutual assistance.

5.   Project Budget

Total project budget: CNY 3,370,000 (Three Million Three Hundred and Seventy Thousand Yuan). Detailed budget breakdown is provided in Sections 10.1–10.10 of the full project proposal.

6.   Expected Outcomes

Serve 1,000 mothers in difficult circumstances; over 90% will independently use AI tools, affirm their own capabilities, reduce stress, improve parent–child relationships, and achieve stable income growth.

50 mothers will attain flexible home-based income of CNY 1,000–2,000 per month.

Establish 15–20 stable local mutual-aid groups; cultivate 50 Mama Mentors.

The mutual-aid network operates autonomously, independent of the project platform; AI tools remain continuously accessible.

Produce standardized service manuals, tool inventories, and other replicable deliverables.

7.   Social Impact

Addresses the triple challenge of childcare, employment, and information access facing single mothers — enhancing their sense of agency and control over daily life.

Bridges the digital divide — ensuring marginalized groups equally benefit from the digital economy.

Activates women's intrinsic capacities, fostering a grassroots ecosystem of mutual empowerment.

Explores a lightweight, sustainable application model for AI technology in the philanthropic sector.

Advances values of dignity and empowerment, embodying civic warmth and social equity.

8.   Project Highlights & Philanthropic Demonstration Value

8.1   Project Highlights

▸   Technology Innovation, Differentiated Positioning:   Ningxia's first AI-empowerment program for single mothers, fully aligned with Digital Village and Tech-for-Good policy orientations.

▸   Precision Needs Assessment, Evidence-Based Design:   Built on in-depth field research with 500+ samples across five counties (2025); every service offering directly addresses verified pain points.

▸   Robust Resource Network, High Credibility:   Partnerships with universities, tertiary-level hospitals, Jiusan Society, Agriculture Bureau, and leading AI institutions ensure professional rigor.

▸   Sustainable, Replicable Model:   Shifts from 'relief' to 'empowerment', creating a closed loop of training → employment → mutual aid → reciprocal support.

▸   Compelling Story, Broad Fundraising Appeal:   AI + single mothers + rural revitalization = strong narrative, wide audience, and high communicability.

8.2   Philanthropic Demonstration Value

▸   Aligned with Global Women's Development & Digital Inclusion Trends:   Consistent with UN Sustainable Development Goals on women's economic empowerment, gender equality, and digital inclusion (SDG 5 / SDG 8).

▸   Global Demonstration Potential:   Deploys low-cost AI technology to address shared challenges of single mothers in developing regions: poverty, childcare, health, and employment.

▸   Exemplar of Chinese Philanthropy Solutions:   Innovates a 'Nonprofit × Government × Tech Enterprise × Professional Institution' collaborative governance model.

▸   Adapted to Developing-Country Realities:   Deep integration of digital technology, grassroots governance, and vulnerable-group support — requiring only smartphones and simple AI tools, suitable for low-income countries and rural communities without high-cost infrastructure.

8.3.   Project Replicability

◆   Lightweight Model, Low Barrier, Easy to Implement

No large hardware investment required; no high educational prerequisites — a smartphone is sufficient. Modular and bite-sized training is accessible to women of varied cultural backgrounds, languages, and education levels.

◆   Globally Universal Needs

Single mothers worldwide share core challenges: low income, childcare burden, poor health, social isolation, and limited employment. The project's four-dimensional model — AI for Life, AI for Relationships, AI for Income, AI for Resources — is directly adaptable across national contexts.

◆   Rapid Localization

Language: Translate AI tools and curricula into English, French, Spanish, Arabic, etc.
Context: Agricultural nations can emphasize AI-assisted farming; urban settings can scale AI data annotation and content creation.
Networks: Connect with local governments, hospitals, enterprises, and universities to reconstruct community support systems quickly.

◆   Aligned with International Philanthropy Funding Priorities

Digital inclusion, women's empowerment, child protection, and mental health are priority focus areas for leading global foundations.

9.   Closing Statement

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

At the heart of Duofu Mama · AI-Powered Support for Single (Vulnerable/Fragile) Mothers — from beginning to end — are people.

The women who wake up early every morning to cook for their children, even in the midst of hardship. The women who cannot read but can tell at a glance whether their child has a fever. The women who silently carry an entire household beside the sheep pen, at the market stall, at the kitchen stove.

And the case workers who take the time to sit on a doorstep and listen until the story is fully told. The local companions who answer a call at midnight, dress, and leave without hesitation. The Mama Mentors who, having just emerged from hardship themselves, turn back and reach out a hand.

They have all given so much already. What this project sets out to do is simple: when help is needed, someone is there to lend a hand; when it is no longer needed, every person can keep moving forward on their own.

AI is the infrastructure of this era. We do not build exclusive walls — we teach her to use the bridges that already exist. From carrying the weight alone, to having someone beside her, to being someone who helps others carry theirs: we walk alongside her for a stretch of that road, then she continues. The tools in her hands will stay with her. So will the strength in her heart.

We sincerely invite you to join us in extending this support to 1,000 single (vulnerable/fragile) mothers in Ningxia — so that every mother can affirm her own strength, and every life lived with determination can be seen.
